Brainware University is committed to honing our graduates with entrepreneurial excellence. In today’s rising economy, cultivating self-reliance and creating entrepreneurship and startups are one of the main driving forces behind development in our country. To help assist our students on their business path, the Business Incubation Center of our university has built an Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC), on (date) with a committee consisting of a group of faculty members and student representatives. The EDC's primary objective is to cultivate and strengthen entrepreneurial skills in the aspiring professionals involved in starting their own projects and to enable students to find self employment as a viable career option.It is our conviction that proper technological and infrastructural support can help students turn their creative ideas into goods and services that change the very face of society.

We will strive to provide students and faculty members with a platform for creating, innovating, incubating and realizing their entrepreneurial dreams by "thinking outside the box”.

Mission

To encourage and promote the growth of upcoming entrepreneurs, support the sparks in them by fostering the innovative energies of young students and directing them on every step of the way, from the concept to the startup to the enterprise and by continuous encouragement and mentoring with integrity and sustainability.

Objectives

  • To act as an centralized forum for the provision of various resources and information to assist in the development of the young entrepreneurs.
  • Developing a healthy entrepreneurship culture in the parent institution and other institutions in the field, and supporting the goals of the National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB), including development programs on the development of women and weaker sections of the society.
  • To facilitate closer relations between the parent body, business and R&D institutions and other relevant organizations working to support small and medium sized enterprises ( SMEs), including NGOs and other voluntary organizations.
  • To catalyze and promote development of S&T based Enterprises and promote employment opportunities.
  • To respond effectively to the emerging challenges and opportunities both at national and international level relating to SMEs and Micro Enterprises.

Functions

  • To organize Entrepreneurship Awareness Camps, Entrepreneurship Development Programmes and Faculty Development Programmes in the region for the benefit of S&T persons and encourage self employment.
  • To develop and introduce curriculum on Entrepreneurship Development at various levels including degree/diploma courses of the parent institution and other institutes in the region.
  • To conduct research work and survey for identifying potential areas for entrepreneurial opportunities (particularly in S&T areas and Service sector).
  • To guide and assist prospective entrepreneurs on various aspects such as preparing project reports, obtaining project approvals, loans and facilities from agencies of support systems and information on various technologies
  • To act as a Regional Information Centre on business opportunities, processes, technologies, market, etc. by creating and maintaining relevant databases. To render advice to sick enterprises and assist the entrepreneurs in rehabilitating them.
  • To provide testing, calibration, quality assurance, design, tool room, pilot plant and other facilities for Entrepreneurs besides expertise in Intellectual Property rights, Patents search, etc.
